All of the anamorphic lens characteristics demanded by filmmakers today with the Cooke Look® and oval bokeh. That’s the Cooke Anamorphic /i Look. Images beautifully rendered for film and especially suited for use with digital cameras. The Anamorphic /i lens correct aberrations exceptionally well over the entire image area – astigmatism, lateral and longitudinal colour – that will render shape, form and soul to your images.
While the "look" is crucial, precision engineering and seamless integration with other equipment is equally important. The Anamorphic /i, prime lenses in ten focal lengths are colour matched to our S4/i, 5/i and miniS4/i lenses.
Ideal for close-ups and product shots, the Cooke 65 mm Macro Anamorphic /i 2X Prime lens has magnification ratio 4.1:1 with close focus of 5.5" from front of lens.
Now, you have even more latitude. We went one step further with our new Anamorphic/i SF lenses that are specially manufactured with a coating that allows for even more creative options. The “SF” stands for Special Flare because they allow you to kick the flares, bokeh and other aberrations into new visual territory. Complementary to the Anamorphic/i lens series, they are offered in 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 135mm, 180mm, and 300mm focal lengths.
The Anamorphic /i lenses offer superb optical and mechanical performance. Distortion, veiling glare, flares, and all aberrations are controlled at all apertures over the whole field of view. Like our S4/i, 5/i and miniS4/i prime lenses, the cam focus mechanism allows for smooth focus adjustments. Modular construction increases ease of maintenance and serviceability. The Anamorphic /i lenses are designed and made by us to our traditional high standards in Leicester, England.

First feature using Cooke Anamorphic /i lenses: Un Homme Ideal, shot by Antoine Roch, AFC who said, "The Cooke Anamorphic/i lenses have a wonderful round feel to them. We really put the set through its paces, using them in a multitude of shooting situations - day, night, interior, exterior, rain, sun, even into a splash bag - and the lenses performed beautifully all the time, with nice oval bokehs."
Cooke Optics is pleased to announce it was been awarded patents in the U.S and the U.K. for its new anamorphic objective lens technology; U.S. Patent No. 9,341,827, U.S. Patent No.10,078,201 and GB Patent No. 7513993. Cooke intends to enforce the exclusive rights granted by these patents in order to protect its investment in developing Cooke’s new anamorphic objective lens series incorporating the patented technology.
Our Anamorphic /i Prime lenses are supplied with /i Technology that collect detailed lens data for production, VFX and post-production teams and are designed for all PL mounted professional motion picture film and electronic cameras. The /i Technology provides cinematographers and camera operators with vital information on lens setting, focusing distance, aperture and depth-of-field, hyperfocal distance, serial number, owner data, lens type and focal length in both metric and footage measurements, as well as inertial tracking data, shading and distortion data. For zoom lenses, the zoom position is displayed.
